College Football Picks: LSU And Oklahoma Poised For Big Wins

The LSU Tigers and the Oklahoma Sooners have hopes of meeting each other in the national championship game in Miami at the end of this season. For that to happen, both will have to survive stiff tests on Saturday.

The Tigers and the Sooners will face perhaps their toughest tests of the year this weekend. The Tigers go on the road and play against the Florida Gators in the Swamp. Oklahoma stays at home, but they have the top five Texas Longhorns coming to town.

LSU has already been tested earlier in the year by Auburn. They survived that test, but looking back it looks more like a pop quiz then a test. Auburn has fallen apart since their loss to LSU. The Gators will provide a much better gauge of where LSU is at this year.

Oklahoma has been the beneficiary of early season losses by Ohio State, Florida, and USC. Now the Sooners must simply defeat Texas tomorrow and run the table. If they do both of those things, they will be playing in Miami for this year's championship.

Oklahoma has looked like the steadier of the two teams this season. LSU has had problems finding an identity on offense, but their defense still is one of the fiercest in the country.

While both teams will face rivals and teams with championship hopes in their own right, the Tigers and the Sooners look to be superior to their opponents, and should come out of these games still unbeaten.
