College Football Picks: Miami And Georgia Looking Good
The Miami Hurricanes have not played a meaningful football game in a couple of years. The rivalry game with Florida State is always big, but on a national level, the Canes have not been up to their usual standards.
That could all change on Saturday. While the Canes will not be going to a BCS bowl game this year, they can begin their march back to the top of the college football world with a win over Wake Forest on Saturday.
The Demon Deacons are actually underdogs to Miami by almost a field goal. That could have to do with them having to travel to Miami to play the game. Either way, the Canes will need a strong performance from a group of freshman that many believe to be the best in the country.
In the SEC, a big game looms down in Louisiana. LSU, fresh off a come from behind victory over South Carolina, will tangle with Georgia. The winner of this game will move towards the national championship picture, while the loser will most likely be out of the running for that title.
LSU is a one point favorite over the Bulldogs. Neither team has been overly impressive so far this year, so this game will prove to be a measuring stick for both squads.
The Big Ten might have the biggest game of the weekend with Penn State and Ohio State squaring off. The Nittany Lions are undefeated and looking to pass one of their last few tests before making a claim of being the best team in the country.
Ohio State is looking to prove to people that their loss against USC was a fluke. If they beat the Nittany Lions, they will climb right back into a position to play in their third straight title game. They have lost the previous two.
