College Football Rankings: USC And Oklahoma Still On Top
The USC Trojans not only survived their game last week against Ohio State, they blew out the Buckeyes. That win secured their spot on top of the college football polls and that is where they stayed when the polls were released today.
The Trojans received almost all of of the first place votes in both the AP and USA Today polls. Oklahoma is still the number two team in the country in both polls, holding a slim lead over the number three team, Georgia.
Florida was supposed to get a test this week in Tennessee, but the Volunteers appear to be a team that is more hype than substance these days. The Gators cruised to a win and stay at number four in the polls.
There is a discrepancy in the two polls at number five. The AP has LSU as the number five team, while the USA Today poll has Missouri at the number five spot.
LSU had a hard fought battle with then number ten Auburn, but prevailed. Missouri cruised again with their high powered offense. All of the top ten teams in both polls are undefeated.
The rest of the top ten in the AP poll is Missouri at number six, followed by Texas, Alabama, Wisconsin, and Texas Tech. In the USA Today poll, LSU is six, with Texas, Wisconsin, Texas Tech, and Alabama following.
The big match up of the upcoming week takes place in the SEC, where most big match ups take place. Georgia and Alabama will square off with title hopes on the line.
