College Football Saturday: Gators and Tigers Prepare For Battle
The college football landscape is going to change this evening. The spotlight is once again on the SEC and it is the Florida Gators and LSU Tigers that will be mixing it up this time. The winner will be in position to make a run at the national championship.
LSU is the defending NCAA champions. They have not lost a game yet this season and if they get by Florida tonight in the Swamp they will be in prime position to repeat as champions.
The Gators will have much more to prove tonight than LSU. Florida, unlike the Tigers, has not beaten anyone of significance yet this season. They not only have played a soft schedule so far, but they lost to a team that is not even ranked.
If the Gators are going to fight their way back into championship contention, they must beat LSU at home tonight. If they lose for the second time, not only will their national title hopes be eliminated, but they also will most likely not win the conference title.
LSU has a prime opportunity to get back on top. Oklahoma, the current number one team in the country lost earlier today to Texas. That puts the Tigers only a victory away from possibly being the new number one.
