College Footballs Top Two Teams Get A Wake Up Call
Ohio State has been the top team in college football for the better part of the season and up until Saturday they have not had a tough test from anyone in the Big Ten.
Illinois came into the game a major underdog and fell behind 17-0 early, but they mounted a comeback and had the Buckeyes on the ropes all the way until the final whistle, before losing 17-10.
Michigan is the #2 team in the BCS and the Wolverines appeared to have a game on Saturday that should have been a pushover. That did not happen though, as Ball State came into Michigan and had the lead on the Wolverines until Michigan finally pulled away and won the game by 8 points, a game they should have won by thirty.
Both teams might be looking ahead to the huge match up in two weeks, when the #1 and #2 teams in the BCS are set to square off with both teams seasons and title hopes on the line.
Florida was another BCS top five team that needed a dominant performance to stay ahead of Louisville in the standings. The Gators did not provide that performance as they only beat Vanderbilt 25-19 and opened the door for the Cardinals to jump them into the #3 spot in the BCS.
