College World Series: Clemson 8, Georgia Tech 4
College World Series sportsbook action is heating up.
Georgia Tech seemed to have it all under control through the top of the eighth inning Friday. Then Clemson strung together seven hits and eight runs to beat the Yellow Jackets 8-4 in the opening game of the College World Series in Omaha, Neb. Andy D'Alessio provided the big hit for the Tigers, a three-run home run.
Ryan Hinson earned the win for Clemson in relief, and Daniel Moskos pitched a perfect ninth to close out the Yellow Jackets. Tech will play the loser of tonight's Cal State Fullerton-North Carolina game on Sunday at 2 p.m. The winner of that game will face Clemson Sunday at 7 p.m.
