Detroit Tigers Not Cooperating With Gamblers in First Week
The Detroit Tigers were the darlings of the baseball betting world after their off season moves. They were picked by many to not only overtake the Indians in their division, but also to win the World Series.
The additions of Dontrelle Willis and Miguel Cabrera from the Marlins will help escalate expectations. Bettors fell in love with a line up that some believed would be the best of all time.
That has not been the case in the first week of the year. The Tigers offense has been dreadful, and they have yet to win a game. They now sit at 0-5. No team has won the World Series after starting 0-4.
Those are odds that gamblers will be hoping will be overcome by Detroit. They have much money riding on them to win the whole thing. Gamblers that played the odds are now worrying, not even one week in.
The funny thing about gambling is that a bettor never knows. If something looks to good to be true, it usually is. While the Tigers were getting much of the publicity, teams like Cleveland and Chicago just kept trucking.
Not that a first week of the marathon baseball season means anything, but if the Tigers do not get hot soon, bettors that wagered on them could be in for a long season.
