Don't Be Fooled By NFL Betting Lines For Week Two
The second weekend of the NFL football season is upon us and taking a look at the betting lines on the games, there are some red flags that need to be raised.
Green Bay was an upset winner in week one over the Philadelphia Eagles, now they go on the road to face the New York Giants in the Meadowlands and the line on the game is a pick em. Yes, Green Bay did some good things last week, and, indeed, the Giants might be without the services of quarterback Eli Manning, but the home opener should account for at least a three point spread.
Washington also won their first game of the year, and now they go face the Eagles, who lost in week one, the Redskins are 6.5 point underdogs, but easily could defeat the Eagles to go to 2-0 on the season.
Baltimore lost to Cincinnati last week and will try to rebound when they face the Jets, but ten points is too much for a team with not much offense to give to anyone.
There are several divisional match ups in week two starting with Indianapolis versus Tennessee. The Titans played the Colts tough twice last year and come into this game at home as a touchdown underdog.
St. Louis and San Francisco square off with the Rams at 0-1 favored over the Niners, who won in the last minutes on Monday night against the Cardinals.
The Bengals and Browns play in the battle of Ohio, but this does not figure to be much of a game since the Browns traded their starting quarterback Charlie Frye this week.
Denver and Oakland also play a big divisional game with the Broncos favored by 10 over the Raiders.
Two other divisional games are this week, Seattle is a three point favorite over Arizona, and, Detroit is favored by three over Minnesota, who beat the Falcons in week one.
