Dwyane Wade May Hold Key To Gambling In Eastern Conference

There are only a few players in sports that can single handily change the betting odds for an entire team. In basketball, it happens more often than in other sports, and this year Dwyane Wade may hold the key to many gamblers' bets.

Anyone who decided to place money on the Atlanta Hawks in their first round playoff series with the Heat did so with the knowledge that Wade could take over the entire series. Through three games, it has become painfully obvious to Hawks fans that the Heat will go as far as wade takes them.

Anyone who watched the heat play all year knows that this is not a consistent basketball team. The playoffs, however, are different. One player can become an inspiration for the other four players on the court, and Wade has that type of ability.

With every possession under the microscope in the playoffs, it is hard for other teams to match the intensity of a superstar. The basketball world saw that a couple of years ago with Kobe Bryant against a heavily favored Phoenix Suns team, and again when LeBron James led a group of nobodies to the NBA Finals.

This year it is Wade that has to do things on his own. James and Bryant have supporting casts that should allow them to meet in the Finals. The only player with the capabilities to to alter that collision course is Wade, and anyone watching the Heat, Hawks series knows exactly how strong that possibility is.
