Elite Eight Betting Today Leads Two Teams To The Final Four
There are two number one seeds, a number three seed, and a number five seed playing today in the NCAA college basketball tournament. All of them will have the same goal in mind, winning their games and cutting down the nets on their way to the Final Four.
When it gets this late into the tournament, even the most novice of gamblers have some idea how the teams that are left play. That leads to betting odds that sometimes make it a coin flip as to which team to pick.
In the first game, the number one seeded Pittsburgh Panthers will play against number three seed Villanova. Odds makers clearly were torn between Pittsburgh's great regular season and Villanova's tournament run. The Panthers are favored in the game by two.
The second game has number one seeded Connecticut taking on a team many thought would lose to Memphis in the Sweet Sixteen. Missouri overcame those odds, and now will have to overcome being a five point underdog to make it to the Final Four.
Villanova and Pitt are familiar foes. They play together, along with Connecticut, in the powerful Big East conference. Some experts believed that this year's Big East conference may have been the best conference in the history of college basketball.
The three teams playing today are not the only representatives of the Big East that are still playing. The top overall seed in the tournament, Louisville, will be taking on Michigan State tomorrow for the right to head to the Final Four.
