The Euro 2008 soccer tournament has reached the stage where it is win or go home. After surviving group play, only eight teams remain in the hunt to become the Euro 2008 champions.
The Netherlands have been dominant throughout the tournament and their strong play has made them one of the gambling favorites heading into the quarter-finals. Spain has also had a strong showing so far and is the other favorite. Both teams are +350 to win.
Germany, another traditional power will face off with Portugal in the next round. The game will be one of the most anticipated because both teams are in the upper half of the gambling choices. The two teams are both +500 to capture the tournament.
Italy is another team that is +500 for gamblers. The Italians have not played particularly well, but they did enough to survive the strongest group. They now face the daunting task of having to take out one of the favorites. They play Spain in the quarters.
Turkey is the long shot of the remaining teams. They are considered a major underdog at +2500. If they are to continue their improbable run, they will have to beat Croatia, who has odds of +700.
Russia is the other team that surprised many by getting this far. They will have to beat the tournament favorites from the Netherlands if they hope to move on to the semi-finals. Russia has odds of +1400.
The quarter-finals will run from June 19th to the 22nd. The semi-finals will be held on June 25th and 26th, and the final match will be on June 29th.
