Fantasy Baseball Betting Begins With A Full Week Of Drafts

Fantasy football is what started the fantasy sports craze, but for many players, it is fantasy baseball that gets the highest honors. To devoted players, fantasy baseball offers much more skill over a longer period of time than football.

This week is one of the biggest of the year for fantasy sports players. Fantasy baseball betting begins with drafts being held in some cases right up until opening day.

"Fantasy baseball has passed football in the amount of passion that their owners have for the game," said player Gregory Simone, "there's just so much more strategy that goes into baseball, and that makes it a better overall game."

What used to play second fiddle to football has now become a fantasy staple. The ability to make moves on a daily basis gives owners the feeling that they are actually running a professional club.

In football, the champions of fantasy leagues usually have one of the few highest scoring players in the league on their team. That is not always the case in baseball. With the roster bigger, and daily moves available, there becomes a need for a team to be much deeper than their star players in order to win.

In baseball, the amount of time an owner puts into his team is usually directly related to how well they will finish the season. It is true that the playoffs can sometimes still be a crap shoot, but the regular season can be controlled much easier than in football.

The argument may continue between owners as to which fantasy sport is the best, but with the crack of the bat being heard at ballparks around the country, there is no doubt that right now the focus is on fantasy baseball.
