Fantasy Baseball Update: Webb And Diamondbacks Leading The Way

It usually takes a few weeks before the fantasy baseball season begins to define itself. In the first few weeks, numbers are exaggerated, leading owners to believe their teams are either much better, or much worse, than they anticipated.

Now hat the first couple of weeks have come and gone, it is time for the yearly fantasy gems to start distinguishing themselves from the crowd. This year, several players on the Arizona Diamondbacks have joined the elite group.

Not only are the Diamondbacks the best team in the National League right now, but they also have top players that are contributing greatly to fantasy squads.

Brandon Webb has won his first eight games of the season, and has kept his ERA down to a minuscule level. If that continues, he might end up being the best fantasy pitcher this season.

His teammates have also produced big fantasy numbers Dan Haren is off to another strong start, and Max Scherzer has come out of nowhere to not only join the rotation, but also become a valuable commodity in fantasy leagues everywhere.

On the offensive side of the ball, Mark Reynolds and Steven Drew have been pleasant surprises so far. With the season now in full gear, and the Diamondbacks cruising, it might be time to acquire a few of their players, if possible.
