Fighting Irish Could Be in For One of Worst Seasons Ever

When Brady Quinn left the Irish' program last year for the NFL draft, fans of Notre Dame had no idea that he apparently was taking any and all offensive production with him.

The storied program is off to a 0-3 start and could be headed for even worse defeats then what has already been administered to them.

The Quin less offense ranks #120, which is last in division 1-A. They are averaging 115 yards a game, almost 65 yards worse than the next worst team, Florida International.

That, in itself, shows just how poor a season is occurring in South Bend, that a program as storied as Notre Dame, with all their national championships and Heisman trophy winners, is being mentioned in the same breath as FIU.

Clearer skies do not look in the clouds either, as they still have Michigan State, Purdue, Navy, UCLA, and ranked teams Boston College, and USC on their schedule.

They are 0-3 for just the second time in the school's history, and although they only have 11 losing seasons since 1887, they are on pace for their fourth in the past nine years.

Charlie Weis was supposed to turn this program back toward the top of the rankings, and for one season he did that, but now the pressure starts to mount for the former assistant coach to Bill Belichick, as fans, students, and alumni begin to wonder what has gone wrong to a once proud football university.
