First Week NFL Gambling Odds Begin With Ocho Cinco Name Change

The New York Giants successfully began their run as the defending NFL champions on Thursday night. They defeated the Washington Redskins 16-7 in what was the first game for people to begin gambling this year.

There was not much offense in the league opener, but the Giants played well enough on defense to make sixteen points hold up. They showed no signs of weakness after losing their two top defenders in the off season.

While the Giants were busy opening up the season, the league was hard at work making sure that one of its players was properly addressed when his team takes the field on Sunday.

The player formerly known as Chad Johnson legally changed his name in Florida to Chad Ocho Cinco. The league began acknowledging him as Ocho Cinco on Thursday. They are now prepared to change his name on all business related matters.

"The list of appropriate changes will include Ocho Cinco wearing his new surname on the back of his jersey for Sunday's season opener at Baltimore." Johnson is proud that he is now a trailblazer in the name changing game in the NFL.

"It's something I don't think anyone has ever done before. Have I ever had a reason for why I do what I do? I'm having fun," said Johnson on the Cincinnati Bengals website.
