Gamblers Lose Out On Placing Bets For Roger Huerta Street Fight
When you are considered to be among the top fighters in your profession, gamblers take note and start placing bets on your battles. That is why gamblers are upset with a report that lightweight Roger Huerta was in a street fight over the weekend.
TMZ posted a video on Wednesday of Huerta apparently going after another person who allegedly hit a woman. A street fight ensued, but reports indicate that the fight was more Huerta pounding the unknown person.
When Huerta fights in Las Vegas or other areas of the country, sports books place odds on his bouts. Gamblers can usually find decent odds on mixed martial arts fights. When the fight occurs in the streets in the early hours of the morning, gambler are out of luck.
The fight began outside of a bar in Austin, Texas at 2 AM. The unidentified man knocked a woman down with a punch. As others attended to the woman, Huerta took off running after the aggressive male. When Huerta caught the man, he apparently beat him up good, although the video did not capture the fight due to the crowd that surrounded the scene.
Huerta has not exactly denied the reports. Huerta's manager told TMZ that he had not yet spoken to the fighter, but that Huerta does have a history of protecting women. arrests have not been made in the case as of yet, with authorities still trying to determine the sequence of events.
Huerta fights for Bellator Fighting Championships. He started his career in the Ultimate Fight Championship. Mixed martial arts has overtaken boxing as the top fighting sports draw in the US, with millions of fans tuning in to pay-per-view events.
