Gambling Jackpot For Las Vegas Sportsbooks: Alabama And Florida
The Florida Gators and the Alabama Crimson Tide were on their way to a colossal match up in the SEC championship game that would determine which team played in the national title game. First, they had to both avoid upsets at the hands of their arch rivals.
After a wild couple of days, both the Gators and the Crimson Tide have survived, although in much different fashion, and they will play next Saturday as two of the only undefeated teams in the country.
That is great news for the Las Vegas sportsbook gambling industry. The Florida-Alabama match up should produce big numbers, with bettors take a shot with one of the two SEC teams. The game should have a point spread that is relatively low.
Auburn almost upset the balance of power in that game by pulling off an improbable victory over Alabama on Friday afternoon. The Crimson Tide survived after a perfect game winning drive, culminating in the go ahead touchdown with one minute left.
Florida had a much easier time with their rival. The Gators jumped on an over-matched Florida State team, and had the game in hand by halftime. Towards the latter end of the fourth quarter, Tim Tebow was loudly applauded by his home fans for the last time in The Swamp.
Alabama and Florida met last year with the same trip to the title game at stake. The Gators prevailed in that game by turning up the heat in the second half. This year, unlike last, both teams will be undefeated in the battle for the SEC title.
