Gambling Odds Bouncing Around For NFL Preseason Games Thursday
The NFL preseason is a time when starters rarely play and backups that most likely will not even make the teams are determining outcomes of games. Thursday, two more games will take place and the gambling odds are jumping around in one of the games.
The Philadelphia Eagles are hosting the Carolina Panthers in an NFC match up. The opening betting line for the game started at Eagles minus three. It has remained relatively unchanged throughout the week so far.
The other game, however, has sports books having different opinions on the outcome. Several sports books have the Pittsburgh Steelers favored over the Buffalo Bills by two to three points.
Other sports books have the game listed as a pick. That is a variation of two points, something not usually seen in a football game. The sports books are in most cases within a point of each other at the most.
The totals for both games has remained steady. In the Eagles game, the total has been thirty five and a half or thirty six all week. The Steelers game has a total of thirty three.
The low totals are common in preseason games because with many backups playing, there are more mistakes on the offensive side of the ball than in regular season games.
