Gators Hold On To Defeat Rival Seminoles On The Road

Gators Get By Seminoles Florida came into their game against Florida State on Saturday with hopes of running up the score and impressing voters enough to jump them up in the standings, that did not happen as the Gators looked sloppy in victory.

The final score will probably hurt the Gators because anyone who did not see the game will have a problem with Florida only winning by a touchdown against what was conceived to be an inferior opponent.

The Gators led the game 14-0 at halftime and appeared to be coasting to a victory in the fashion they had envisioned, but they got sloppy in the second half.

The Seminoles scored twice to make it a 14-14 game and seemed to have all the momentum on their side, but Chris Leak led the Gators on a 79 yard touchdown drive in the fourth quarter and the Gators defense took over from there and sealed the win.

Florida is not likely to play for the national title now because of their performance and coupled with the idea that tonight's winner of the USC-Notre Dame game will probably be ahead of the Gators in the BCS standings, and Michigan should also stay in front of them. The Gators only hope at this point will be to win convincingly in the SEC championship game, and even that might not be enough after Arkansas lost to LSU yesterday.
