Germany, Serbia, and Slovenia Favored In World Cup Betting Today
Germany is one of those teams that nobody ever knows what to expect from in the World Cup. There are years when Germany was favored and they tanked, and then there are other years where not much was expected and they made deep runs through the tournament.
This year, Germany falls right in the middle. They are not going into the 2010 World Cup as heavy favorites, but they do have odds that suggest they could win the Cup. Today, their quest begins against what looks like an undermanned Australian team.
Germany has odds of 8/15 to defeat Australia. Gamblers would have to be sure the Germans will not get upset, having to lay $15 for every $8 they want to win. For those who believe the Australians can pull the upset, these gamblers can receive 5.5 to 1 on their money.
The other matches today do not have odds nearly as long. In the first match of the day, Slovenia is favored over Algeria. Neither team has the best of odds for bettors, but the outcome of this game will be crucial to the US.
England and the US played to a draw on Saturday, and they both will be favored over Algeria and Slovenia. The winner of today's game, however, will have the best shot at derailing either England or the US.
The other game of the day features Serbia and Ghana. Serbia has odds of +115, and Ghana's odds are +235. The over/under for goals scored in the game is two. The Slovenia/Ghana game has a total of two as well, and Germany and Australia bettors can find a total of 2.5.
