Jacksonville will be the host of Monday night football tonight and they will be playing a Giants team that is licking its chops after being embarrassed at home last week against the Chicago Bears.

New York went into last week's game as a favorite in the NFC and came out of the game with many question marks. Eli Manning in particular struggled as he has of late and the offense in general could not get things going.

This week, things will get even tougher for the Giants as they try to rebound against a Jacksonville team that is struggling to find its identity. The Jags found out this week that they will be without starting quarterback Byron Leftwitch for the rest of the season due to injury. That leaves the quarterbacking duties to David Gerrard.

Surprisingly, Jacksonville has been involved in a couple shootouts of late. That is a change for a team that prides itself on its defense and its ability to win close games.

With both teams offenses struggling a bit tonight's game figures to be a defensive struggle. The Giants need to win this game to stay ahead of the Dallas Cowboys after the Cowboys upset previously undefeated Indianapolis on Sunday.

On the other side, the Jaguars are sitting at 5-4 and need to capture a victory to keep themselves out in front in the race for a wild card spot in the AFC.

The game will be televised on ESPN tonight at 8:30.
