Golden State Betting On A Miracle To Make NBA Playoffs

The Golden State Warriors were a Cinderella team last year. They made the playoffs as a number eight seed, and once there, they pulled off one of the greatest playoff upsets of all time.

The Warriors beat the number one seeded Dallas Mavericks, a team that was picked by many to win the NBA championship last year. That was then, this is now.

This year, the Warriors enter the season's final three days with the very real possibility that they will not be back in the playoffs. They have squandered their last couple opportunities, mainly the other night against the Nuggets.

They entered tonight in a must win situation against the Phoenix Suns. The Suns have been playing well the past few weeks, after a slow start since the trade for center Shaquille O'Neal.

The rest of the West is starting to take form. The Lakers appear headed towards the number one seed after a weekend in which they beat the New Orleans Hornets, and blew out the San Antonio Spurs.

The final spot for the playoffs will come down to either Denver or Golden State. The Nuggets might not be focused if they do make the playoffs. Their star player, Carmelo Anthony was arrested on Monday morning for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
