Grand National Betting Heating Up Just Days Before The Event

The Grand National is the worlds most famous jumps race, but with the field so large, how does one go about picking a winner? However gamblers make their choices, one thing is certain, the betting on the event has already began to heat up.

Some bettors like to pick their winners based on where the horses were bred. The Irish have been lucky of late, winning six of the last ten, while the French bred have had a string of two decades of not winning at Aintree.

Others have focused on the experience factor in picking their winners. The truth to the sport, for these people, is that the more jumping practice, the better. These gamblers will be looking to a horse that has run well in the past.

One of the favorites for this years Grand National is My Will. A two time Grand National winner, Ruby Walsh, will be the jockey for My Will. The legendary jockey took some time to make his decision.

"I've had a few sleepless nights over this one but I've finally decided to go with My Will,' said Walsh, "Last week I was trying to pick my way through seven possible rides because, at the National, so much depends on the weather and the going."

Walsh will not be the lone legendary jockey battling for a win at the Grand National. Tony McCoy is widely considered to be one of the best jump jockey ever. He has not yet determined which horse he has chosen for the Grand National.
