Hall leads Georgia Tech into World Series berth

Baseball fans in Southeastern Ohio will have a special reason to follow competition in the College World Series which will take place in Omaha, Neb. beginning today.

Former Federal Hocking High School and Miami (Ohio) sports standout Danny Hall, now in his 13th season as head coach at Georgia Tech, has guided the Yellow Jackets to their third trip to Omaha, the first of which came in his initial year at the school. The Yellow Jackets, who are currently 50-16, will meet Clemson (52-14) at 2 p.m. EDT today in the opening game of this year?s College World Series competition.

The contest will be carried on ESPN2. All of the CWS games will be on ESPN or ESPN2. There are eight teams in the double-elimination event which will conclude with a best-of-three Championship Series beginning Saturday, June 24.
