James, Wade, Bosh, Key To 2011 NBA Championship Betting Odds
The Los Angeles Lakers have won two consecutive NBA championships. Next year, L.A. will go for their third straight title, and if they accomplish the feat they will be the last dynasty since, well, the Lakers of Kobe and Shaq.
The next week, however, may go down as the week that forever changed the NBA. The biggest free agent class in history is set to be courted by many NBA teams, and at the top of the list is some guy that analysts and fans refer to as "The King."
LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh are arguably the three top free agents in a class that goes double digits deep in impact players. They hype surrounding free agency has become so intense that sports books have start to offer betting odds on where James will play his home games next season.
One rumor that has been circulating this week is the possibility that all three of the top players on the board would sign with Miami. If James, Wade, and Bosh all place their signatures on the dotted line with the Heat, it will severely change the betting odds for next year's championship.
The Lakers are expected to be the favorites, and may still be even if James, Wade, and Bosh team up in Miami. The more likely scenario, however, has whatever team James signs with jumping to the top of the betting odds list. Wade has already won a championship, while Bosh and James have not.
Kobe Bryant is the player most compare to James when people talk about the best players in the world. Bryant just picked up his fifth NBA title, but even he cringed at the mention of having to face three of his former USA teammates in the same game.
The clock is ticking, and soon enough all of this free agency talk will be over. When the dust clears, sports books may have some rearranging to do regarding the betting favorites for next season.
