Jets And Bucs Could Soon Be Gambling On Favre Through Trade
The week in the life of Brett Favre started back when he flew on a private jet to Packers training camp. The consensus at that point was that Favre would report to camp on Tuesday and then proceed to compete for his job.
Then Tuesday arrived, and those well laid plans from Monday turned sour. Favre did report to camp, but never made it to the practice field. Instead, he slipped out the door and headed on his way.
Wednesday landed Favre back in his hometown of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. There was no job to compete for, and Favre must now wait to see what happens next.
What could happen next is what could have happened if the first rumors of his return were true. Favre is talking to both the Jets and the Buccaneers about a possible trade. Both teams would love to have his services for the upcoming season.
"We're working on it. Hopefully we can get something resolved. I've been saying that for quite a while now. I don't want to say we're running out of time, but I need to get into a camp somewhere.
One place that apparently will not be is Minnesota. While rumors have been flying that Favre wanted to stay inside of his division so that he could compete against Green Bay, that is now an unlikely scenario.
