Kenny Perry Retaining Lead At The Masters In Third Round
It is the weekend at The Masters and in most years that means one thing. All of the leaders are looking over their shoulder to see where Tiger Woods is lurking. The only problem is that Woods is somehow falling farther off the pace.
Woods began Saturday with a double-bogey, not the type of start he was looking for. Although he can never be counted out, the double-bogey may have ended any legitimate chance he had of catching the leaders.
The golfer on top right now is Kenny Perry. Perry is -2 so far on the day, and has taken a one stroke lead over Chad Campbell. The two were co-leaders coming into the day. Campbell is -1 on Saturday.
Phil Mickelson is another golfer who many were keeping an eye on with the expectations he would make a weekend charge. Mickelson has run his overall score to -4, but that still leaves him seven shots off the lead.
Angel Cabrera is alone in third place early in his third round. He is -8, three shots off of Perry. Jim Furyk is also holding his own in the tournament and is currently at -6.
Many were wondering if Woods would be the same after he had surgery and missed a bunch of time on tour. He put those doubts to rest when he came back a couple of weeks ago from five shots down and won on Sunday.
