Kentucky And Florida Facing Off To Keep Their Seasons Alive
The Florida Gators are showing how quickly things can change in college athletics, their basketball team has won two straight national titles and their football team is the defending champions, so they should be the team to beat this year, right?
Not so fast. The Gators, after starting the season impressively, have now lost two straight games , and cannot afford to lose again if they are to keep their SEC title hopes alive.
On the other sideline a completely different picture is being painted, the Wildcats are ranked in the top ten, and are coming off an enormous emotional victory over the previous number one team in the country, LSU.
The win over the Tigers could affect Kentucky in two ways today, they could either carry the momentum of last weeks game into today and roll over the Gators, or, they could be emotionally and physically spent and have a long day.
The Wildcats have not defeated the Gators in twenty years and for that streak to end, Kentucky will have to play a perfect game against a Florida team that is not in any hurry to lose their third straight game, something, by the way, that coach Urban Meyer, has never done.
Gamer time is set for 3:30 from Kentucky, the winner keeps their title hopes alive, while the loser falls farther back in the race.
