Kentucky Derby Betting Odds: I Want Revenge Still Favored
The Kentucky Derby has arrived once again and with less than twenty four hours until the annual race, I Want Revenge is still the favorite. The odds have dropped, however, to 3-1.
Dunkirk has been the second choice since the betting lines have been revealed. The horse that finished second in the Florida Derby is a 5-1 choice. Friesan Fire is now also at 5-1. Many believe this horse has the best chance to pull the upset.
"Friesan Fire is trained by someone who knows Churchill Downs well," said analyst Bob Trubert, "if this horse performs up to his capabilities, he easily could run away with this race."
Pioneer Nile is the only other horse with odds of less than 10-1. At 6-1, many betting experts believe this horse could be the key to winning the trifecta and superfecta bets.
The middle of the pack, according to the betting odds, consists of Chocolate Candy, Desert Party, Musket Man, Regal Ransom, Hold Me Back, Papa Clem, and Advice. all of these horses have odds ranging from 14-1 to 25-1.
The long shot list includes West Side Bernie, Summer Bird, Flying Private, Nowhere To Hide, Mine That Bird, Join In The Dance, and Atomic Rain. The last five in that list are all listed at 100-1.
