Kurt Warner Betting The Cardinals Are A Changed Organization

The Arizona Cardinals have been at the bottom of the NFL for so long that many wondered if they were simply a cursed organization. They flirted with mediocrity for a couple of years but for the most part they were a team buried in the standing.

Then something magical happened last year. The Cardinals wrapped up their division title early and cruised into the playoffs. They let a few games get away after clinching the division and that led experts to believe they would be one and done in the playoffs.

Arizona ran the table in the playoffs winning one game on the road against Carolina and two games at home against Atlanta and Philadelphia. They then lost in the last minute of the Super Bowl to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

It is what happened next that may shape the way this organization is viewed in the future. The Cardinals re-signed their starting quarterback, Kurt Warner, to a two year deal. They showed the entire league that they have no plans of being the Cardinals of old.

Warner has agreed to give some of his money back to ensure that Arizona is able to sign receiver Anquan Boldin to a long term contract. If that takes place and the Cardinals return Boldin, Larry Fitgerald, and Warner, then they may find themselves right back in the Super Bowl next year.

Earlier in the week when Warner visited with the 49ers, experts were wondering if Arizona was going to simply allow their starting quarterback to walk away. They answered that question on Wednesday when they re-signed him to the two year contract, and that signature may be the mark that changes the previous perception of the franchise.
