Lakers Gambling On Home Court To Finish Off Jazz
The Los Angeles Lakers had one goal in mind when they began the season this year. Return to the NBA Finals, and this time, walk off the court with a championship.
Through the regular season, the Lakers seemed to put that goal on display on an almost nightly basis. Their intensity was matched by no other team, and they secured the best record in the Western Conference.
The number one seed led the Lakers to a match up with the Utah Jazz in the first round of the playoffs. The Jazz were no match for Los Angeles in the first two games, but then pulled a semi-surprising upset in game three in Utah.
In that game, Kobe Bryant had one of the worst postseason performances of his career. In game four Bryant came out aggressively and made sure that the Lakers once again took a commanding 3-1 series lead.
Now the series shifts back to L.A. and the Lakers are gambling on their home court advantage in the game to close out the series and start resting for the second round. If Utah wins game five, things in the series could get interesting.
The series would move back to Utah in game six, and if the Jazz was to hold home court, there would then be a game seven in Los Angeles.
The Lakers do not want that scenario to play out, so they are looking to finish off the Jazz tonight. The game will be played after game four of the Heat and Hawks series and will be televised live on TNT.
