Lakers Off To A Surprising Start in Early Season NBA Action
The Lakers finished last season by surprising Phoenix in the conference semifinals by taking the Suns to seven games. Although that seems like an accomplishment for a team rebuilding, the Lakers feel they should have won the series after being up 3-1.
This season, L.A. is focused on righting what went wrong at the end of last year.
The Lakers played their first two games of the season without their all star Kobe Bryant and came into both games as underdogs against Phoenix and Golden State.
All the Lakers did in those games was win both in dominating fashion led by the play of Lamar Odom and rookie Travis Bynum. The first game against Phoenix could have been viewed as a game won by adrenaline as the Lakers opened their season at home.
The second game though was a little more impressive as L.A. went on the road to play at Golden State a night after playing the Suns.
The outcome was similar as the Lakers ran the Warriors out of the building with a 20 point victory.
Bryant is expected to be out through the end of the week after having Knee surgery in the off season. When he returns the Lakers seem poised to make some noise in an already stacked Western Conference.
