LeBron James Twitter Account Could Be Telling For Gamblers
LeBron James showed up at his youth camp on Tuesday and still thee was no decision on where he will be playing basketball next season. One clue, however, is James' Twitter account that was created Tuesday morning.
Perhaps James will become the first major sports athlete to use Twitter to announce his free agent decision. Reporters who have been covering the story for months now, have been reduced to checking James' Twitter account constantly. There is no guarantee that this will be the way the news is revealed in the coming days.
Gamblers have been waiting since the end of the season for some information on James' next team. It may turn out that the team he has played for over the past seven years remains his team of the future. Many analysts believe that Cleveland is now the front runner to retain James' services.
Bettors have been able to place wagers on where the big name free agents will sign thanks to online sports books. Cleveland has been the betting favorite throughout, although at certain times Miami and Chicago's changes have increased and decreased.
Dwyane Wade also gave no information on Tuesday about his pending signing. Organizers cancelled a press conference scheduled for Wade and Alonso Mourning that was going to promote Zo's Summer Groove. The organizers were fearful that the questions would be directed at Wade and the focus would not be on the event being promoted.
Chris Bosh is the wild card in this process, and on Tuesday the Toronto Raptors indicated they would be willing to work with Cleveland on a sign and trade deal. Toronto has previously stated that they have no interest in doing a sign and trade with the Heat. Sources claim that James has been selling Bosh on the idea of playing in Cleveland.
