Magic Gambling On Home Court To Keep Them Alive IN NBA Finals
The Orlando Magic came into the NBA Finals with a sort of a swagger after having disposed of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the conference finals. That swagger quickly turned to despair after Los Angeles routed them in game one.
Then, in game two, the Magic played a much better game than their first. They hit more shots, and played better defense, yet they still lost to the Lakers, and now are in a two game hole in the finals.
The Magic return back home tonight to face the Lakers in game three, and they are gambling on their home court advantage to get them back in the series. Tonight's game becomes a turning point for this series.
If Orlando wins, they will be back in contention to win their first-ever title. If they lose, however, they would face a 3-0 deficit, and would have little chance of hoisting the championship trophy.
This is new territory for the Lakers. They did win the first two games of their opening round series with Utah, but since then, they have dropped one of two at home in each of their last two series'.
Whether they have that killer instinct tonight will go a long way in showing whether these Lakers, led by Kobe Bryant, will become champions. The two teams both know what is at stake, and the one that plays with more urgency will win, but which team will that be tonight?
