Major League Baseball Betting On Red Sox And Cubs In All Star Game
The New York Yankees were hoping that they would have a bunch of their own players in the all star game that will be held at Yankee Stadium in a week. It turns out that their hated rival will be the ones all over the field.
Major League Baseball will be gambling on the Boston Red Sox and the Chicago Cubs to help draw interest for this year's game. Each of those two teams will be represented by seven players.
The weirdness will begin before the game. The Red Sox, almost a whole team of them, will be in the Yankee locker room. It gets even worse for the Bronx Bombers when they realize that the Red Sox manager, Terry Francona, will be in their manager Joe Girardi's office.
As for the Cubs, they have been the most consistent team in the National League this year, and they have been rewarded for that. Their catcher, Geovany Soto will become the first rookie catcher ever voted to start in the all star game from the National League.
The rosters are almost complete, but there still is one spot open from each team. Fan voting will take place to determine who the final all star is from each league. There will be a list of eligible players to be voted on provided online.
