Mets-Cardinals Face Pivotal Game 5 Tonight
The New york Mets appear to have benefitted the most from Monday's game being rained out. Tom Glavine, who was set to start on three days rest, now, because of the rain out, the Mets ace left hander will start on his regular rest.
The rain out would seem to help the Mets more than the Cardinals because Glavine is in his 40's and the extra days rest helps him more than Jeff Weaver, who is only in his 20's.
One thing that does favor the Cards however, is the momentum the Mets hitters may have had after finally exploding on Sunday night, now may be a non factor after having a day off in between games.
Game 5 is important to both teams but for different reasons. The Cards need to win the game because the next two games are back in New York, and it will be tough to win two games back at Shea.
The Mets, on the other hand, need to win this game because although they have the next two games at home, they will be without their ace, or anything resembling an ace, to start in tose games.
The game tonight will be aired on FOX at 8:00.
