Michael Redd Injury Could Impact NBA Betting Down The Stretch
Michael Redd was having himself a tremendous season for the Milwaukee Bucks. He was most likely headed to the all star game before he injured himself Saturday night against Sacramento and will now miss the rest of the season.
It is a devastating blow for Milwaukee who currently is holding on to the eighth and final playoff spot. The team has been gelling as of late, and the injury could create a tight race for the last playoff spot.
The future betting lines will also be heavily impacted without Redd. He is a strong shooting player who makes a difference, and betting lines could be altered by several points a game without him in the Bucks' games.
The New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets appear to be the main beneficiary's of the Redd injury. They are the two teams that are chasing Milwaukee for the final playoff spot in the East, and without Redd it will be difficult for the Bucks to hold on and make the playoffs.
To their credit, Milwaukee has dealt with adversity already this year. Redd has missed games earlier in the year and Andrew Bogut has also been out of the line up for a period of time. The Bucks have persevered, but the mindset will now change knowing Redd will be lost for the season.
Redd spent his summer this past year as part of the gold medal winning Olympic basketball team. He complimented Kobe Bryant and LeBron James with his outside shooting skills.
