MLB Betting Preview: Opening Day Continues With Orioles, Rays
Major League Baseball over the years has done an honorable job of ensuring that fans all across the US enjoy their opening day experience. The league has stayed true to form this year, with all teams except Tampa Bay and Baltimore playing their first games either Sunday or Monday.
On Tuesday, the Rays and Orioles will be the last of the major league teams to show their fans the 2010 version of their squads. The two teams, however, may have a completely different outlook on where this season is going.
Tampa Bay is once again expected to compete with the Red Sox and Yankees for the American League East title. The Rays were in the World Series just two years ago, and they have a team loaded with talent that will try to get back to the Fall Classic this year.
Baltimore, on the other hand, has a lot of young players that the organization is looking to develop throughout this season. Adam Jones and Brian Matusz are two players that could lead the Orioles for years to come.
The Yankees and Red Sox will continue their season opening series that began on Sunday night. The first game featured C.C. Sabathia and Josh Beckett, but by the end it was the offenses for both teams that shined. Boston won the opener.
On Monday, aces Chris Carpenter, Tim Lincecum, Johan Santana, and Roy Halladay all won. Other top pitchers such as Felix Hernandez, Ben Sheets, Roy Oswalt, and Josh Johnson watched their teams lose in game one of 162.
