MLB Interleague Play Not Always Good To Sports Bettors
When the Yankees and the Mets get together every year, baseball wins. The fans of the two teams that share New York both get an opportunity to gain bragging rights for an entire year. Same goes for fans in Chicago, Los Angeles, Florida, and other cities and states where there are two teams occupying the territory.
Interleague play has been great for the game, but for sports bettors, it makes for a long couple of weeks. With most fans concentrating on only their teams division and league, interleague play can be a glimpse into the unknown.
Baseball bettors like to play match ups. They pick hot pitchers or teams and find stats that show how they have played against other teams in their leagues. Certain pitchers dominate certain teams, and the same goes for hitters, who have more success against some pitchers.
In Interleague play, however, the teams and players do not know their opponents so well. That makes for some tough decisions by gamblers. Do they play the hot team, or the better team? Do they take a chance on a rivalry game?
These are a couple of the tough choices that need to be made if a gambler is going to place a wager on interleague play. While baseball is one of the easiest sports in terms of picking winners, interleague play throws a wrench in the system.
The next couple of weeks will be stressful for bettors. For most, it will be a time for either coin flip choices, or a vacation from betting. A select few will give it a go and try to figure out the match ups, and they will need all the luck they can get.
