Monday Night Football Betting Odds: Chargers Favored At Home

The San Diego Chargers have been knocking on the door of greatness for several years now. They have all the pieces in place to be the best team in the AFC, but they can't get over the roadblocks that are the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts.

On Monday, the Chargers will host the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football and they are the gambling favorite in the game. The Chargers are -5.5.

Much like many good teams before them, they have to take that next step to be great. They must show that they can overcome the Patriots and Colts, and this season maybe even the Pittsburgh Steelers.

All everything running back Ladainian Tomlinson is back and so is quarterback Phillip Rivers. After starting slowly last year, the Chargers came on strong and won the AFC West.

The Seahawks will also be looking to improve off of last season's performance. Seattle has had a couple of sub par years after losing to the Steelers in the Super Bowl a couple of seasons ago.

The sports books do not expect a high scoring game Monday, even though both teams should play their starters for at least a half, and maybe for three quarters. The betting total on the game is 37.5.
