Monday Night Football Betting Odds: Steelers Favored In Denver
The Pittsburgh Steelers are the defending Super Bowl champions and they have been playing lately like they intend on defending that title early next year. Tonight, they are going on the road to face the Denver Broncos, and the Steelers are the betting favorites in the game.
The Broncos come into the game with the second best record in the AFC at 6-1. Odds makers, however, were taken aback by their loss last week against Baltimore. The Broncos are three point underdogs against the Steelers tonight on Monday Night Football.
Pittsburgh has another thing going for them as well tonight. Over the past several years, the Steelers have been unbeatable in night games. For some reason, when the lights come on, this Steelers team rises to the occasion.
Pittsburgh will be without two key starters on defense for tonight's game. Lawrence Timmons, their starting linebacker and Ryan Clark, their starting safety. Pittsburgh has already lost starting defensive end Aaron Smith for the season.
The Broncos will be looking to show their critics that their strong start to the season was no fluke. If they beat the defending champions, they will have to be considered serious contenders in the AFC. A loss at home tonight would put further doubt in the minds of their critics.
ESPN will carry the game at 8:30PM. While the Steelers are favored by three points, odds makers are not expecting a high scoring affair. The total for the game is only forty-one.
