Mystics Late Run Delivers ATS Win
Chasity Melvin scored the first eight points of the fourth quarter, spurring a 12-0 run that led the Washington Mystics to a 87-70 victory over the Charlotte Sting on Tuesday night. The Mystics easily covered the 11 1/2-point spread and improved their ATS record to 5-3.
The final score played over the 154 1/2 total set by sportsbooks. Nikki Teasley scored a season-high 19 points, and DeLisha Milton-Jones and Alana Beard had 18 apiece for the Mystics, 5-0 at home and 0-3 on the road. Melvin matched her season high with 14 points. Tangela Smith scored a season-high 24 points to lead the Sting, but she essentially carried her team by herself after halftime. She scored nine of Charlotte`s 15 third-quarter points, and 16 of the Sting`s 27 turnovers came in the second half.
