NBA All-Star Game Betting Preview: Scoring Will Be Plentiful

The NBA All-Star weekend is coming to an end in Los Angeles this evening when gamblers will have one final shot to place their bets on the festivities. Tonight, the Eastern Conference all-stars will face off against the top players in the Western Conference.

LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, Carmello Anthony, and Kobe Bryant will all be in attendance as the league showcases their stars of today. The odds makers have always had a hard time handicapping this match up, and this year will be no different.

The Eastern Conference is favored in the game by one point. It just as easily could have been a pick, but sports books like to make one team the favorite in these exhibition games. The total for the game is 268, indicating that not much defense is expected to be played.

In the past, the game has turned into more of a one-on-one show. The best players in the world, such as Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and Michael Jordan, going head-to-head in front of a sold out crowd. Tonight, fans will be looking for their share of Bryant versus James match ups, although the players take the game much more light-hearted than the fans.

The Eastern Conference squad should provide some drama this evening. There are several Boston Celtics and three Miami Heat players on the all-star team. The heat and the Celtics are battling for the top record in the conference and home court advantage throughout the playoffs.

Boston has already been to two of the past three NBA Finals. The Heat assembled a powerhouse trio of Wade, James, and Chris Bosh this past summer in the hopes of dethroning the Celtics as conference champs. Boston has beaten Miami in all three games the teams have played this year.
