NBA Betting Odds: Lakers, Heat, Kobe, D-Wade, Tonight
The Los Angeles Lakers have overcome what was an early season slump for themselves and now have the best record in the NBA. Tonight, they will face a hungry Miami Heat team that comes to the Staples center with one of the best players in the world in Dwyane Wade.
For the past couple of seasons, Kobe Bryant has been considered by many to be the best player in the league. The debate usually centers around Bryant and LeBron James, but Wade is a player that is younger than Bryant and has grown tremendously in the past few seasons.
The three superstars spent the Olympics together two summers ago and it appears to have helped each of their games. While James is the most powerful of the three players, it is Wade and Bryant's game that mirrors one another the closest.
When Shaq went to Miami, he lent instant credibility to Wade being one of the best players in the world. Wade carried the Heat through the playoffs on their improbable championship run, but has yet to get back to that type of success since Shaq left.
The next year will be key for both Wade and the Heat. Miami has the money to make a major splash in nest year's heralded free agent class, but their first priority must be to convince Wade that they will build a contender around him.
Bryant has no such worries in Los Angeles. The Lakers front office has stacked the court with weapons for Bryant to use at his side, and it appears that this years version may be even better than the team that won the title a season ago.
The Heat have not played well after a hot start, while the Lakers have looked unbeatable lately. Tonight, it will be a crash of two teams that appear headed in opposite directions, even if their stars both shine brightly.
