NBA Betting Odds: LeBron James Wins MVP, Focused On Title
LeBron James or Kobe Bryant it used to be an entertaining debate as to which superstar is the NBA's best player. With James winning his second straight MVP award on Sunday, that debate has now fizzled.
What has not fizzled, however, is both players quest to win an NBA title this year. James may have won his second straight MVP, but Bryant is the one with four championships, his latest of which coming last year.
Like last season, LeBron's Cavaliers entered the playoffs with the best record in the league. James is hoping the outcome, however, is different from the agonizing conference finals loss Cleveland experienced at the hands of Orlando last spring.
The Cavaliers were off to a strong start in round two on Saturday when they defeated Boston in game one. If the Cavaliers do get by the Celtics, the Magic will most likely be waiting in what could be a rematch of last year's Eastern Conference finals.
Bryant, meanwhile, is chasing his fifth title. The Lakers also won game one of their second round series, and now head to Tuesday with an opportunity to put a stranglehold on their series with Utah.
NBA fans have been waiting for years to see Bryant and James square off in the NBA Finals. This may be the year the fans get their wish. If so, James will bring his two MVP awards, while Bryant will be armed with four shiny rings.
