NBA Betting Odds Shift Back Towards The Favored Teams
The NBA usually has one or two upsets in the first round of their playoffs. A couple of years ago, the Golden State Warriors, a number eight seed, beat the top seeded Dallas Mavericks in a stunning upset.
This year, it looked as though there may be some teams primed for upsets after giving away home court advantage in game one of their series'. Those teams have recovered, however, and now the prospects of an upset seem dim.
The Philadelphia 76ers won their first game in stunning fashion against the Orlando Magic. They came back from a huge double digit deficit and beat what is considered to be one of this year's elite teams. The Magic, however, bounced back and won game two.
The same situation occurred in Boston. The Celtics, upon hearing the news that Kevin Garnett would not be playing, gave game one away to the Chicago Bulls. They also recovered in time to pull out a game two victory.
Over in the West, Houston blasted Portland in game one of their series. The Trailblazers were the vogue pick to surprise in the playoffs, but were quickly brought to reality by the Rockets. Portland held off Houston in game two, and the series now goes to Houston tied at one.
In the other game one upset, Dallas beat San Antonio. The Spurs, like the other three teams that lost game one, came back strong in game two and will now go on the road trying to wrestle home court back from the Mavericks.
