NBA Betting Odds Still Point To Kobe Versus LeBron In Finals
The NBA championship series is just a few short weeks away and the NBA still has its dream match up looming. The Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers are the betting favorites to advance to those finals.
The Lakers are coming off of a grueling series with the Houston Rockets. They could not get the job done on the road, and had to close out the Rockets in a game seven in Los Angeles. Now that they have passed that test, the Denver Nuggets await them in the conference finals.
Cleveland, on the other hand, has not been tested yet in this year's playoffs. That should change in their upcoming series with Orlando, a team that was considered by many to be the second best team in the East this year.
Of course, the underlying excitement of a possible Cleveland-L.A. match up in the finals would be Kobe Bryant versus LeBron James. The debate as to who is the best player in the league has revolved around these two for several years now.
Last year, Bryant was the MVP and his team went to the NBA Finals. This year, it is James who won the MVP award, and his team seems more poised for a championship run. The stakes for both are high in the upcoming series.
Bryant is attempting to shed the image that he cannot win a title without Shaq. James is trying to prove that when you are one of the best players on the planet, you don't need a supporting cast to win a championship.
Tomorrow night the conference finals will begin, and it will be four wins by both Cleveland and Los Angeles to ensure a happy ending for the NBA and all of its fans.
