NBA Betting Odds: Trade Deadline Approaches And Cavs Move First
The Cleveland Cavaliers are picked by many experts to be playing in the NBA Finals come June. They are riding the league's longest current winning streak, and they have the top record in the NBA. That does not mean, however, that they are satisfied with their position.
The trading deadline has arrived, with just over twenty-four hours left, and the Cavaliers reportedly are the first of the title contending teams to make a major move. Sources indicate that Cleveland has acquired Antawn Jamison from the Washington Wizards.
The move comes a somewhat of a shock to fans who have watched the Wizards and the Cavaliers grow into one of the best rivalries in the league. Just the idea that the Wizards management would help Cleveland over the top in their quest for a title is shocking to some.
The move may also clear the way for an Amare Stoudemire deal to the Miami Heat. The Heat would likely have to part with a first round pick and Michael Beasley to get the deal done. Even then, it is unknown whether the Suns would pull the trigger.
Other rumors circulating include Nate Robinson being traded from the New York Knicks to the Boston Celtics. Again, this would be a trade of two Eastern Conference rivals. The Knicks are also close to acquiring Tracy McGrady from the Rockets.
