NBA Betting Preview: Kobe And Lakers Face LeBron And Cavs Tonight
The NBA has had two players that are considered 1A and 1B when it comes to being the best players in the league over the last several season. Whether Kobe Bryant or LeBron James is at the top of that list depends on who you talk to.
The two players are considered to be the marquee draws for television ratings in all of the NBA. That is why the league scheduled the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers to play in Los Angeles on Christmas Day.
The Cavaliers embarrassed the defending NBA champions in that game, and tonight they meet again, this time in Cleveland. It will be the first game of a long road trip for the Lakers, their first extended trip of the year.
As was expected before the season began, Bryant and James are again battling for the leagues MVP award, and their teams are fighting for the top record in the league. Currently, the Lakers hold the edge over Cleveland, despite playing many games this year without Pau Gasol.
Gasol will be back in the lineup tonight against Cleveland, but the Lakers will be dealing with a team leader who has struggled of late while dealing with injuries of his own. Bryant has a hurt shoulder and back to go along with the broken finger he has been playing with for most of the year.
James, on the other hand, seems to be just rounding into form. Tonight he will go against one of the top shut down defenders in the NBA in Ron Artest. Cleveland will, however, be without point guard Mo Williams for the game.
