NBA Betting Preview: Lakers And Celtics Prepare For Game Five

The Los Angeles Lakers have been in this situation twice already during this year's playoffs. The Lakers had both their series with Oklahoma City and their series with Phoenix tied after four games. This series, however, the Lakers will be playing game five on the road.

The consolation prize for L.A. after they defeated Boston in game three was the Lakers were assured of getting the series back to Los Angeles. If they do not win on Sunday night, the Lakers will have to win both of the games in L.A. this week.

For Boston, they had hopes of going home and wrapping the series up in the three games in Boston. That dream was eliminated quickly, but the Celtics found a way to persevere and fought back to win a tight game four.

These teams have won the past two NBA championships, so both are fully capable of winning road games. The job will be much easier for Kobe Bryant and his teammates should they secure one more win in Boston. The odds of the Celtics winning both games in Southern California are hard to comprehend even for the most devout Celtics fans.

Andrew Bynum is expected to be one of the main keys to the game on Sunday. Bynum has vowed that he will play, despite having an injury to his knee that will require surgery when the season ends. How effective Bynum can play could be the difference between which team heads back to L.A. with the series lead.

The Lakers were favored coming into the series, but Boston has been favored in the games at home. Many analysts have believed this series would go all seven games, and with the way both teams have battled, that looks more and more like a possibility. Game five is at 8PM on Sunday, and will be broadcast live on ABC.
